Definition

An outline is a line that is drawn around elements, outside the border edge, to make the element "stand out". The outline property sets the outlines around elements.

Note: Outlines do not take up space, and they do not have to be rectangular.

CSS properties can also be dynamically changed with a JavaScript.

Scripting Syntax: object.style.outline="#0000FF dotted thin"

Value Description
outline-color

A shorthand property for setting all the outline properties in one declaration.
